The Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club is much more than a social organization. The Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club promotes brotherhood and fellowship among our members through our social, educational, religious, recreational and community service activities. We are committed to working together with the entire congregation and clergy to benefit the community, our synagogue, and ourselves as individuals. The Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club provides a unique and warm environment in which our members meet for programs, work together and simply have an enjoyable time with others who share our Jewish values, a commitment to Israel and a desire to lead and give back to the community.
The Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club has regular events throughout the year, including our bimonthly meetings which provide an informative and entertaining forum to discuss a myriad of men’s issues. Our regularly scheduled meetings every other month, where we often bring extraordinary and engaging speakers to talk about Jewish values, the State of Israel, health, and community affairs. The meetings typically include dinner, followed by a chance to mingle with other members and guests, and then our program. We also host programs with experts on health issues, personal development and, community events, including having current Livingston Mayor Ed Meinhardt meet and speak with our members.
Besides our meetings, we have many annual events, including our Scotch in the Sukkah event, Annual Temple BBQ, Men’s Club Comedy Night, and Founder’s Day Brunch, where we honor those who have made extraordinary contributions to our communities. We sponsor meaningful community programs such as a recent production of play Dear Esther, based on Richard Raske’s book Escape from Sobibor, an account of the mass escape in October 1943 of hundreds of Jewish prisoners from the extermination camp at Sobibor in German-occupied Poland.
Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club also participates in the sixteen team Livingston Temple Softball League, which allows our Men’s Club to compete against area synagogues’ Men’s Clubs in competitive Sunday morning softball.
We hope that you will not only attend our events, but will join the Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club. It is the perfect way to meet others who share the love of Judaism, who want to bring Jewish values to life, and who are committed to having a good time while giving back to our community. Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club welcomes all male members of our congregation to join and participate, including fathers of Religious School and Nursery School children.
